On November 2, 2010, the voters of the 20th Congressional District chose Chris Gibson has their representative in Congress.  Two months later, Chris was sworn into the 112th Congress and brought his new direction and vision to Washington.

Chris's priorities in Congress are growing the economy to create jobs, restoring fiscal responsibility and moving toward a balanced budget, and protecting freedoms. Already, progress has been made toward these goals.  Importantly, with Chris's support, Congress made historic reductions in spending to begin to return balance to our federal budget.  Chris voted to repeal of Obamacare, increase domestic energy production, and remove unnecessary and duplicative regulations on our small businesses and farmers. The House also passed legislation, the REINS Act, that would require an 'up or down' vote by Congress on any federal rule with a greater than a $100 million economic impact - fulfilling a campaign promise.

Chris also voted for legislation that would reform our country's tax code by removing loopholes and lowering overall rates, helping small business owners and hardworking families. Since the devastating storms in August and September, Chris has been focused on helping our Upstate communities recover from the damage done by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

Certainly on all fronts there is much more work to be done, but Chris is the right choice for the 20th Congressional Dirstrict.  With your help, we'll keep this new direction for our country and ensure our best days are still in front of us.
